RE/Mixed Media Festival IV

The RE/Mixed Media Festival is a celebration of collaborative art-making and creative appropriation. It’s the artists’ contribution to the ongoing conversation about remixing, mashups, copyright law, fair use, and the freedom of artists to access their culture in order to add to and build upon it. RE/Mixed Media Festival IV will be held on April 26-27, 2014 at The New School, in cooperation with the School of Media Studies, and Parsons The New School for Design; and at CultureHub, in NYC's East Village.
Daniel Pinheiro

Born in Venezuela, between 2007 and 2013 participated in different programs developing his skills in the fields of Video Editing, Media Art, Performance Art and Networked Performance.

Kiersten Nash

Kiersten integrates cultural theory with her experimental prowess as an artist and training as a former athlete to navigate the nuances of everyday attuned to [in]visible infrastructures that construct perceived, conceived, and lived realities.

Patrick Rosal

Poet, essayist, and sound artist, Patrick Rosal, is the author of three books, most recently Boneshepherds, which was named a notable book by the National Book Critics Circle and the Academy of American Poets.

David Shields

David Shields is the New York Times bestselling author of fifteen books, including the literary mash-up, Reality Hunger, named one of the best books of 2010 by more than thirty publications.

The Messengers

The Messengers is a commentary on Angelic and Iconic experiences. It examines the spiritual messages we receive and how that plays out in the cosmic shift after the end of the Mayan calendar.

iM SHiNY HOE!

A video sculpture and live performance in collaboration with the Harlem based rapper “R.A.D.” that interrogates via video, web, new media, text, sound and expressive movement the ‘slippage’ that occurs during the spectacular encounter of the Other in the break of mass mediated/Pop pedagogy around race, class and gender.
