4th Annual RE/Mixed Media Festival - Fall, 2013

The RE/Mixed Media Festival is a celebration of collaborative art-making and creative appropriation. It’s the artists’ contribution to the ongoing conversation about remixing, mashups, copyright law, fair use, and the freedom of artists to access their culture in order to add to and build upon it. Featuring: Performances, panel discussions, hip-hop, sampling, beat-box, film & video, fashion, food, DJs, technology, interactive installations, painting, sculpture, software, hacking, and much more!

    Jonathan Ames
    Jonathan Ames is the creator of the television show "Bored to Death" and is the author of eight books.

    ReVerse Bullets - "Drapetomania!"
    ReVerse Bullets is an interweaving audiovisual suite of seven video-songs representative of modern institutions used to control the illusion of existence.

     

    Remix in Literature Panel
    A panel of writers, theorists, and critics engage in a discussion about authorship, literary appropriation, copyright, plagiarism, and fair use.

     

    Authoritarian Idol 2012
    A multimedia mashup of pop, politics, and performance art, remixing words and images and exploring the collision of democracy and media spectacle.

     

    S.T.D.
    Found film-strips comically exposing conformity, classism, consumerism and mind control propagated through the public school systems.
